Senior UX/UI Designer OleOle (Football Social Network & Messaging Platform

About OleOle

OleOle is building the ultimate social network and messaging platform for football a native platform designed for web, mobile, and tablets. We’re creating a place where fans, clubs, and brands connect seamlessly, with features inspired by Twitter, TikTok, WhatsApp, and more.

We are a startup with big ambitions but no guarantees. Three and a half weeks ago, we lost our funding, and the entire team including engineers, designers, and leadership is currently working on a deferred compensation basis until funding is secured. We know raising capital is hard, and were being 100% transparent about the risks involved. This is not a job for everyone its for those who believe in the vision, thrive in uncertainty, and want to build something groundbreaking from the ground up.

What You Will Do

Develop intuitive, visually stunning interfaces that enhance user engagement across feeds, messaging, live scores, and video creation.

Work closely with product, engineering, and branding teams to create and refine interactive features for millions of football fans.

Design wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI components while maintaining a consistent design system.

Optimize user journeys and engagement loops, ensuring fans stay connected, entertained, and informed.

Collaborate with developers to ensure high-quality implementation of designs across different devices and screen sizes.

Help shape OleOles design strategy, setting a strong foundation for a world-class football social network.

What Were Looking For

5+ years of UX/UI design experience, preferably in social media, messaging apps, or fan engagement platforms.

Startup experience you thrive in fast-paced, zero-to-one environments and can adapt quickly.

Deep knowledge of mobile-first and responsive design principles for web, iOS, and Android.

Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar design tools.

Strong understanding of user psychology, interaction design, and visual storytelling.

Experience designing for high-traffic consumer platforms, particularly in social media or gaming.

A portfolio showcasing world-class design work, preferably in social, messaging, or sports apps.

Strong communication skills you can present and justify your design decisions clearly.

  • Rust Proficiency: Familiarity or experience with Rust is a major advantage, especially in building performant, secure, and scalable web applications.

  • Type Safety & Memory Management
    • Understanding of Rust’s strong type system and memory safety guarantees, and how they can be leveraged in frontend and API integration tasks.
  • WebAssembly (WASM)
    • Experience using Rust with WebAssembly to build highly efficient frontend modules or components.
  • Modern Front-End Skills
    • While frameworks like React or Vue remain relevant for rapid development, the ability to integrate or replace them with Rust-based solutions is key.

  • API Integration with Rust
