About the Role: Easypost is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Engineer to work with our teams who manage services in both conventional on-premise and Cloud environments. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will automate processes, optimize system performance, and ensure the scalability and reliability of our applications. The ideal candidate has a deep and broad experience across a range of infrastructure technologies with prior experience conducting a migration of services to the Cloud.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
o Design, implement, and manage foundational infrastructure and platforms across on-premise and cloud environments.
o Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
o Identify opportunities for shifting from proprietary to industry standard tools.
o Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes to ensure the reliability and availability of our systems and services.
o Conduct postmortems and implement improvements to prevent recurrence.
o Optimize service performance through capacity planning, resource utilization analysis, and infrastructure tuning.
o Work with colleagues to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of our infrastructure and services, both on-prem and in the Cloud.
o Stay current on industry regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with data protection and privacy laws.
o Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure and service configurations, processes and procedures.
o Collaborate closely with software engineers and other stakeholders to understand pain points and requirements, translating them into effective solutions.
o Apply DevOps/SRE principles to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
o Cultivate a positive team culture, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
o 7+ years of related experience. 2+ years of experience with AzureExperience with migration from On-Prem to CloudProficiency in coding and scripting languages, with a focus on Python.
o Deep understanding of DevOps & SRE principles, practices, and methodologies.
o Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure & GCPProficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
o Proficiency with automation tools like Ansible and Puppet.
o Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and ELK stack.
o Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes.
o Experience with host-based traffic management services (haproxy, nginx).
o Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka.
o Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges, identify solutions, and implement them effectively.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
$125,000 - $178,000 a year
The posted salary range represents the base compensation for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, skills, geographic location, and internal equity.
