Job Description
Goodwork is recruiting for an American-based fintech startup that's revolutionizing how families build generational wealth.
What makes this opportunity interesting?
- 🚀 Join a well-funded US startup redefining family finance
- 🎯 Take on diverse responsibilities in marketing, product, operations, and investor relations
- 🤝 Work closely with a founder experienced in building, scaling, and exiting companies
About the Company
We’re a mission-driven fintech startup addressing a defining challenge: we’re the first generation to be financially worse off than our parents. Our mission: to empower families to build generational wealth together through innovative, automated investing.
We're building the first multiplayer finance platform that helps families build generational wealth together through automated investing. Our web and mobile platform simplifies investing with fully managed portfolios, automated contributions, rollovers, and transparent pricing. By combining the benefits of education savings and retirement planning, we make it easier for families to secure their children’s financial futures.
In addition to our direct-to-consumer platform, we offer a B2B API, enabling partners to seamlessly integrate our investment products into their ecosystems. We operate a fully managed back office with U.S. and Canadian subsidiaries, ensuring compliance and secure fund management through a trusted broker and custodian.
We serve forward-thinking professionals across the United States (with plans to expand globally), with a focus on parents and parents-to-be. Nearly 40% of our users start investing before their children are born, or shortly after, demonstrating a strong commitment to early financial planning.
We’ve raised $2.5M in pre-seed funding, are backed by advisors from Monzo, Betterment, and Acorns, and are on track to help families invest over $700M. Our founding team has previously built and scaled a successful fintech startup to 400 employees, and our work has been featured in major publications like Forbes and Yahoo Finance.
OUR COMPANY VALUES guide our team and shape our culture:
- 🎯 Make an Impact: Focus on why we're building and what matters most
- 🤝 Be Human First: Lead with empathy and meet users where they are
- 🧠 Achieve Excellence Through Intelligence: Take the smart path using cutting-edge tools
- ⚡ Move Fast & Build to Last: Make thoughtful decisions that stand the test of time
- 💭 Ask the Tough Questions: Challenge assumptions and drive innovation
- 🌍 Include Everyone: Create a great environment for both users and team members.
We're a fully remote organization with 5 teammates (soon to be 6 👋), including engineering, compliance, operations, and marketing teams. Our team is distributed across Canada and the US, with headquarters in the Boston area.
Our culture is fast-paced and data-driven. We “drink from the firehose” – consuming large amounts of information and ramping up quickly on new areas. Everyone contributes through independent analysis while maintaining strong alignment through regular collaboration. We deeply value customer empathy and defend user priorities at all costs.
About the Role
We're looking for a remote Startup Operations & Growth Lead to partner with our Founder/CEO in driving key initiatives and scaling our operations. You'll be instrumental in helping achieve our ambitious 2025 goals while taking ownership of critical workstreams that are currently on the founder's plate.
In this role, you'll manage multiple high-impact initiatives across marketing, operations, and strategic projects. You'll coordinate with agencies, drive project execution, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks, enabling our founder to maintain high-level visibility while achieving greater scale in our operations.
You'll have significant visibility across the entire business and direct access to leadership. This is a unique opportunity to shape the growth trajectory of an ambitious fintech startup, with the chance to work closely with a successful founder who has previously scaled and exited a company. You'll be joining at a pivotal time as we execute on aggressive growth plans for 2025 and beyond.
Our IDEAL CANDIDATE is an ambitious builder with 3-6+ years of experience in Product Management, Product
Marketing, Operations, or Chief of Staff roles, excited by the prospect of wearing multiple hats and creating impact at scale. You thrive in fast-paced environments where you can drive multiple workstreams simultaneously, and you get energy from turning complex challenges into wins. You're highly analytical yet deeply empathetic to user needs, comfortable diving into metrics while never losing sight of the human impact of our work. Most importantly, you share our passion for building meaningful products that help families secure their financial futures, and you're ready to roll up your sleeves alongside our founder to make that vision a reality.
Your performance will be measured by maintaining inbox zero, ensuring no outstanding deliverables, keeping the ball in the partners’ court, providing clear project visibility, and driving metrics in the right direction across all initiatives.
You'll collaborate closely with the entire team, including our vendors. This position reports directly to and works closely with the Founder/CEO.
You’ll be doing things like:
- Marketing & Agency Management: Managing relationships and deliverables across agencies handling paid media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google); overseeing influencer campaigns, affiliate programs, and marketing automation through Intercom and Customer.io; coordinating website launches and design projects; ensuring compliance approvals and script reviews for marketing initiatives; launching new product marketing efforts, such as sweepstakes, by coordinating with external vendors.
- Product & Analytics: Analyzing user activation metrics in Mixpanel to improve conversion rates and engagement; building and managing dashboards to track performance metrics in collaboration with the engineering team; conducting manual QA by recreating and documenting user-reported issues for engineering; synthesizing user research and rolling feedback into actionable product improvements; supporting product marketing initiatives by bridging marketing and product teams.
- Strategic Operations & Founder Support: Managing investor relations, including cap table updates and AngelList administration; preparing the founder for public speaking, trade missions, and meetings with key stakeholders; coordinating applications for startup programs and strategic partnership opportunities; reconciling expense reports and overseeing cash management documentation; supporting founder-led B2B sales initiatives with banks and financial institutions; leading outbound call center projects to re-engage users who dropped out during onboarding.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3-6+ years of experience in roles like Product Management, Product Marketing, Operations, Chief of Staff, or Project Management. Finance and Legal backgrounds welcome
- Proven track record managing multiple workstreams in fast-paced startup environments
- Strong analytical mindset with experience driving product conversion metrics
- Advanced project management capabilities and exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent stakeholder management, from executive leadership to external vendors
- Tech-savvy early adopter who quickly masters new tools
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strategic thinker who independently drives initiatives forward
- High degree of customer empathy and dedication to user priorities
- Entrepreneurial spirit with strong bias for action
- Track record of keeping multiple projects on track while maintaining "inbox zero"
Bonus if you also have:
- Prior experience in user research, fintech, financial services, or legal fields
- A strong eye for design and creativity
- Experience with or a keen interest in VC-funded startups
- Familiarity with investment products and financial instruments (e.g., Roth IRA, 529 plans)
- Familiarity with our tools: Slack, Google Workspace, Mixpanel, Intercom, Customer.io
