We are seeking a talented Product Designer to join our product design team. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, operations, and key stakeholders to create customer-centric tools and products on our customer service and fraud teams. As the first design team member in this critical area, you will play a vital role in Varo's success by owning and delivering a world-class customer service and fraud experience.
What you'll be doing
  • Translate feature ideas into intuitive and effective design solutions
  • Lead all phases of the design process for small to medium-scale projects, working in close partnership with your product and engineering
  • You’ll collaborate on a product team with a product manager, engineering manager, and a team of engineers
  • Champion the voice of our customers and advocate for design thinking principles within your team
  • You’ll have ample opportunities for professional growth in a fast-paced startup environment, with strong support to advance your career
  • In the first 90 days, you’ll immerse yourself in understanding our customers needs and building strong relationships with your team
  • In the first year, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally to define, design, and ship features that drive positive impact for our customers and the business
You'll bring the following required skills and experiences
  • 3+ Years of product design experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, hands-on design work that aligns with product strategy
  • Comfortable with all aspects of the product design process, including discovery, concepting, design and development, and implementation
  • Ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships
  • Value inclusive design and accessibility
  • Curiosity is your superpower, you’re a sponge when it comes to product and design learning
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent practical experience
  • Bonus points for having experience creating within a design system across both web and native applications and a familiarity with the banking or financial services industry.
