Job Title: WordPress Designer (Philippines-Based)

Company Overview: JRA is a fast-growing digital marketing agency specializing in the junk removal and dumpster rental industries. We pride ourselves on delivering high-performing websites that blend functionality with strong visual appeal. We are expanding our team and looking for two dedicated WordPress Designers to join us.

Position Overview: We are seeking two talented, ambitious, and detail-oriented WordPress Designers to design and customize websites directly within the WordPress interface. Our web theme allows for intuitive design within WordPress, and while we use themes to streamline builds, we aim to provide some uniqueness in each project to ensure our clients stand out.

We are looking for skilled web-designers who take pride in their work, are committed to producing top-quality designs the first time, and are driven to improve and innovate. The ideal candidates will possess in-depth knowledge of UX, UI, and CRO best practices, while also being able to hold themselves to a high standard, take ownership of their work, and consistently deliver results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and customize WordPress websites using our custom WordPress interface and established themes.
• Ensure each website features unique brand and design elements to maintain individuality.
• Implement a mobile-first approach, while also applying responsive design principles to ensure websites look great on all devices.
• Take ownership in each design project to maintain a high standard of quality and functionality. Self-discipline and high attention to detail are essential for this role.
• Follow established design standards while injecting creativity where appropriate.
• Maintain consistency across client websites by developing and refining a design system.
• Work closely with content and SEO teams to optimize the user experience, content structure, and visual appeal of each web page to achieve maximum SEO results.
• Apply SEO best practices within designs, including:
• Correct use of header tags (H1, H2, etc.)
• Optimizing image sizes and alt text
• Ensuring fast page load speeds
• Following internal linking best practices
• Troubleshoot design issues within WordPress and resolve them promptly.
• Work closely with Project Manager, and team members, to meet deadlines and deliver projects on time.

Required Skills & Experience:

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of professional experience designing websites using WordPress themes and builders.
• Strong portfolio showcasing creative, high-quality designs with a focus on user experience.
• Proficient in WordPress design tools such as Elementor, WPBakery, or similar.
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to follow processes and deliver consistent results on time.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a remote team.
• Driven, ambitious, and committed to producing top-quality work with minimal oversight.
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
• Experience in the junk removal or dumpster rental industry is a plus but not required.
• Must use Time Doctor for time tracking and productivity monitoring.

Technical Design Skills

• UX/UI Expertise: Strong understanding of UX principles, including usability, accessibility, and typography, to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
• Design Systems: Experience in building and maintaining a design system to ensure consistency and scalability across multiple projects.
• Standard Web Design Tools:
• Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe XD for design creation and prototyping.
• Figma and/or Sketch: For UI/UX design and collaborative prototyping.
• InVision (or similar): For interactive prototyping and gathering user feedback.
• Awareness of web performance best practices and SEO-friendly design principles.
• Experience implementing accessibility best practices (WCAG compliance, ARIA roles, contrast ratios, etc.).

Web Development Experience

• Proven track record working with WordPress including template customization.
• Slicing Design files into html
• Expert level Wordpress Web development (beyond just basic wordpress usage that is required)
• JavaScript web development

Conversion Optimization Expertise (Optional Skill)

• Experience using Google Analytics for tracking user behavior and site performance.
• Familiarity with A/B testing platforms such as Google Optimize, Optimizely, or VWO.
• Use of heat mapping tools like Hotjar or Crazy Egg to understand visitor engagement and drive improvements in ad conversion.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI):

• Designers will be evaluated based on the number of revision requests that result from established design standard errors. A low error rate is expected to ensure designs are accurate the first time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Asana or other project management tools.
• Experience working in a digital marketing agency environment.
• Strong understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) for website performance enhancement.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time role.
• Work hours: 7 AM to 3 PM Eastern Time.

Salary Range: $2,000 USD per month, based on experience and performance expectations.
