Role Description

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and innovative Workday Extend Developer to join our People Technology team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and implementing scalable Workday Extend applications that enhance the functionality of our Workday platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives, ensuring a seamless employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy Workday Extend applications tailored to business requirements, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Develop and manage integrations using Workday Extend APIs, Workday Studio, and other Workday tools to ensure data accuracy and seamless functionality across systems.
  • Create custom-built solutions within Workday Extend to address specific business needs, enhancing the capabilities of Workday modules such as HCM, Benefits, Time Tracking and Absence etc. 
  • Work closely with the People team, Corp IT, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to existing Workday Extend applications and integrations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for all Workday Extend solutions, including design specifications, testing plans, and deployment strategies.
  • Monitor Workday’s bi-annual updates to identify new Extend capabilities and determine their applicability to the organization.
  • Provide training and technical support to internal teams for newly developed Workday Extend applications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience with Workday tools and technologies, including at least 2 years specializing in Workday Extend application development.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Extend, Workday Studio, APIs, and web services (REST/SOAP).
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript) and experience with JSON, XML, and XSLT.
  • Hands-on experience in developing Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, and RaaS.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues within the Workday ecosystem.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on maintaining high levels of accuracy and consistency in solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday certification(s) in Workday Extend and/or Workday Integrations are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and product lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to innovate and implement creative solutions to optimize Workday’s functionality.
  • Experience working in a global organization with diverse and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience in partnering with IT to develop end to end technology solutions within and outside of Workday.

The range(s) listed above is the expected annual salary/OTE (On-Target Earnings) for this role, subject to change.

Please note, OTE are for sales roles only.

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation.  We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range.

Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current US Zone locations are as follows:

• US Zone 1: San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro
• US Zone 2: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington DC metro, and West Virginia (DC metro)
• US Zone 3: All other US locations
