We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Release Manager to coordinate and optimize our software release processes. In this role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across multiple teams, ensuring timely and high-quality deployments. You will work closely with development, QA, DevOps, product management, finance, accounting, and GTM teams to enhance release efficiency and minimize risks. Your skills in release management should encompass a full life cycle approach with planning releases across the entire company from product development to go-to-market readiness. Responsibilities:
- Release Planning & Execution: Develop and maintain a detailed release schedule, ensuring alignment with business goals and project timelines.
- Organizational Product Delivery: Manage comprehensive delivery projects to assure all departments and internal systems are ready to deploy new product capabilities. This includes integration with internal systems and processes as well as internal enablement and external communications.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work cross-functionally with product management, development, QA, and other GTM stakeholders to ensure smooth release cycles.
- Change Advisory Board: Provide guidance on ways to improve the CAB process to empower the link of change.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance release management processes, advising on best practices for automation.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with software releases, ensuring strategies are in place for rollback and recovery.
- Incident Management: Provide guidance on ways to improve incident management processes and procedures.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive release documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Establish KPIs to measure release performance and provide regular reports to leadership.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in software release management, project management, or software development.
- Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies and methods; Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of Product Management processes, methods, and tools.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Strong ability to manage multiple releases in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Experience with feature/release management tools such as LaunchDarkly or similar
- Familiarity with technical release gating methods, such as the use of feature branches
- Knowledge of payment gateways, transaction processing, and related security measures.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
