Role Overview:
We are looking for an expert, driven planner with a background in Agile to join our Firesprite studio. You will supervise Feature Teams that are passionate about delivering features from a prioritised backlog, covering large areas of the game, and guiding the teams through and championing Agile practices.
Ideally, we would love individuals to be onsite at the studio for 2 days per week, but we may consider those who prefer remote working in the UK. The anticipated duration of this engagement will be 12 months minimum.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead a significant part of project management, running multiple multi-discipline Feature Teams.
- Responsible for the overall development strategy and roadmap of the teams they supervise.
- Collaborate with Lead Technical Producer, Production Director, and Lead Producers to identify the most suitable agile approach for their Feature Teams.
- Accountable for the consistency and quality of output that they are overseeing, including all the work produced for key deliveries.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the assigned Feature Team(s) through utilising project management tools to ensure deliverables are achieved to the expected quality.
- Drives team focus each sprint through a continuously refined and prioritised product backlog.
- Responsible for controlling the scope vs capacity of their teams and identifying outsource opportunities in collaboration with the Principal Producer.
- Facilitate and coach the breaking down of work into manageable tasks collaboratively with colleagues and ensures tasks are prioritised, refined and estimated against.
- Maintains the Risk Register for all teams they support, reporting on risks, and working collaboratively with the Production Leadership to mitigate risk where possible.
- Facilitates the bug triage process and demonstrates an understanding of the QA workflow.
- Responsible for collating and presenting valuable metrics to the Production Director and Studio Development Director on an agreed cadence to effectively report on progress, risk, and opportunities.
What we're looking for:
- An excellent understanding of Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum and Kanban, and champions the implementation of Agile practices.
- Pro-active approach, actively seeking to make improvements, whether that’s refining processes, risk management, or personal growth.
- Excellent knowledge of JIRA, and the use of JQL, Rich Filters, workflows, backlogs, and reporting.
- Experience with traditional Waterfall production management techniques along with Agile techniques, including SCRUM or Kanban.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel), Jira, Confluence and other project tracking and bug database software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate across product development and management teams.
- Experience working with high performing creative teams and partner effectively in a high pressure, collaborative environment.
Role requirements:
- Ideally a minimum of five years of games’ experience in an internal development environment in a production role.
- At least one shipped PC and/or console title as a Senior Producer.
Desirable skills:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
- Experience with Shotgrid (Autodesk Flow Production Tracking).
- Experience planning and working on motion capture shoots.
- Experience on multiple large scale, 150+ person AAA games through all phases of production from concept to release.
