Summary
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
The PR Specialist is to be a strong second-in-command to the PR and Communications Manager / Sr Manager and VP of Communications, who oversees all press-related activities for the North, Central and South America markets.
The PR Specialist’s main responsibilities include booking looks for editorial shoots and managing sample trafficking needs; must have strong relationships with the fashion and editorial teams at all priority publications; overseeing the packing and logging of outgoing samples; ensuring all returns are being processed and notated in a timely manner; pitching and responding to press inquiries and supplying information and assets when appropriate; supporting event programming, VIP efforts and other related departments with PR support, among others.
This position reports to the PR and Communications Manager / Sr Manager and works closely with counterparts in the main press office in Paris as well as additional departments in the AMER corporate offices.
Job Description
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Manage print sample trafficking for the North American, Central and South American markets
Work directly with HQ on all sample needs
Manage seasonal PR sample order
Oversee press credit distribution, archive and reporting
Oversee management of showroom, data management tools, inventory, clipping, contact databases Monitoring & analyzing earned media in print and digital
Communicating brand image activities internally across corporate and retail teams
Manage/train PR assistant/s, coordinator/s and intern/s to assist PR office with daily logistic needs, while simultaneously checking their work on the following areas:
Sample packing and deliveries
Ensuring timely returns
Creating accurate loan records
Placing global shipments
Maintain the Press Archive
Support in the creation of the AMER PR strategy
Support all event needs including:
List creation
Support the PR Manager/Director in organizing attendance and appointments for main collection shows in person or remotely
Organizing appointments for pre-collection press days
Identifying PR opportunities surrounding event activity
Manage seasonal refresh of the showroom with the Visual Merchandising team
Cultivate and maintain working relationships with key editors
Manage PR photography for New Store Openings in collaboration with the Visual Merchandising and Image teams
Manage HQ Image requests including samples., photo approvals, store photos, and more
Support AMER Merch Department by managing Monthly Merch Credit Report, understanding merch priorities and deliveries to better assist with PR and Communications strategy
Support AMER PR and Communications team VIP efforts
WHO YOU ARE
5+ years experience working in fashion public relations
Excellent editorial contacts at the highest levels for all major national publications
Established connections with PR & Marketing agencies
Strong experience within sample trafficking, managing interns & assistants, coordinating press days & scheduling press appointments
Understanding of luxury environment & general media and VIP landscape
Detail and action oriented paired with solid analytical, time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the support of communication and public relations activities at large.
Strong relationships within media titles at the Market level and above
Inspiring through change. At ease dealing with ambiguity.
Understand & appreciate differences. Flexibility & open-mindedness.
Strong existing relationships with fashion influencers and leaders is required.
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of media outlets.
Ability to travel internationally and domestically.
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, BALENCIAGA includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. In addition, where a candidate falls within the disclosed range estimate may be dependent on the applicable geographic differential associated with the location in which the position may be filled.
A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $65,000 USD to $75,000 USD.
