Responsibilities

The Marketing Specialist works closely with the Senior Marketing Specialist to support the Mayo Clinic Laboratories global sales team.

The Marketing Specialist develops proactive proposals and designs presentations that convey our value story and position us for success with current clients and new prospects. The Specialist also collaborates with a cross-functional proposal team and subject matter experts to write responses for RFPs and vendor questionnaires.

This position requires strong writing and editing skills. The Marketing Specialist creates clear, concise, and accurate content, and edits and elevates existing content. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical proficiency, and a proven ability to communicate complex information clearly.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop content that articulates complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Edit and update existing content to ensure consistency in tone, style, and quality
  • Curate content in a content management system
  • Craft compelling proposals that capture the client’s needs and showcase our organization’s strengths and capabilities
  • Customize previous proposals and presentations to align with new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather data for RFPs

_This position is 100% remote work; can work from anywhere in the U.S. Occasional travel may be required based on business need.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, Communication, Marketing, or related field
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills (candidates may be asked to submit writing and editing samples)
  • Minimum of three years of experience creating content in a business, technical, or academic setting
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint (please indicate these competencies on your resume)
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with AP style

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of proposal development best practices (please note any applicable professional certifications such as APMP)
  • Experience with proposal management and automation software (e.g., Responsive)
  • Healthcare writing experience
  • Values continuous learning
