This key leadership role is in a high-growth, high-energy, high-profit portfolio company of big thinkers and big doers. It is a CPG / beverage / dietary supplement company with a history of strong profitable growth as the number one product and brand in its emerging category. Through its expanding sales and distribution network, they are building a team to take current and new products to the global market and achieve exponential growth. With the leadership team formed, the opportunity is now to define and refine the cross functional integrated strategy and lead the team to grow revenue 10x enabling a highly lucrative exit.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Trade Marketing Director to lead and execute trade marketing initiatives that drive sales growth, strengthen retail partnerships, and enhance brand visibility. In this role, you will develop and oversee trade promotions, manage sales assets, lead event execution, and create compelling retailer strategies.
This is a high-impact leadership position for a seasoned trade marketing professional who excels in both strategy and execution, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about accelerating brand growth in the CPG wellness space.
WHO YOU ARE
Strategic Trade Marketing Leader – You develop and execute trade marketing strategies that strengthen retailer partnerships, drive sales, and enhance brand visibility. Your deep understanding of the CPG wellness space allows you to craft impactful, data-driven initiatives that resonate with both retailers and consumers.
Compelling Storyteller & Persuasive Communicator – You know how to translate insights into powerful selling stories that captivate retailers and distributors. Whether through pitch decks, trade promotions, or event activations, you create compelling narratives that drive engagement and sales.
Execution-Focused & Detail-Oriented – You thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple trade marketing initiatives with precision. From promotional planning to event execution, you ensure seamless implementation and maximum impact.
Collaborative Cross-Functional Partner – You build strong relationships across sales, marketing, insights, and operations teams. You work seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure trade marketing initiatives align with broader business goals and retail strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Trade Promotion Strategy & Execution
- Develop and oversee national and regional trade marketing programs to drive sell-through and retailer engagement.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create tailored promotions for key accounts and channels.
- Analyze trade promotion performance, optimizing strategies for maximum ROI.
- Retail & Distributor Partnerships
- Lead go-to-market trade strategies for new product launches and key retail initiatives.
- Work closely with retailers, brokers, and distributor partners to align on promotional calendars and retail activations.
- Develop tailored selling stories, pitch decks, and promotional toolkits for major retail accounts.
- Trade Show & Event Leadership
- Own end-to-end execution of trade shows, conferences, and field marketing events, including logistics, booth design, and brand representation.
- Partner with sales to maximize networking opportunities, product sampling, and lead generation.
- Oversee post-event analysis to measure impact and optimize future activations.
- Sales & POS Asset Management
- Oversee the development and distribution of sales tools, point-of-sale materials, promotional merchandise, and branded assets.
- Ensure all marketing collateral aligns with brand positioning and retailer needs.
- Manage budgets for trade assets and promotional initiatives.
- Distributor & Field Marketing Support
- Support DSD launches and distributor kick-off meetings, ensuring sales teams have the right materials and training.
- Collaboration to support field activations, demos, and retail staff engagement initiatives.
- Category & Shopper Insights Integration
- Collaborate with insights and analytics teams to leverage category data, shopper behavior trends, and performance metrics for strategic recommendations.
- Develop data-backed selling stories to enhance retail presentations and promotional negotiations.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 7+ years of trade marketing or sales support experience within the CPG, beverage, or wellness industries.
- Proven expertise in trade promotions, retail activations, and sales asset management.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to execute multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration—able to work effectively with sales, analytics, and creative teams.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Strong analytical mindset, with experience in measuring and optimizing trade marketing performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred.

In this role you will significantly contribute to the success of all businesses in our portfolio and will be rewarded commensurately.
