Description:

Title: Director of Marketing and Referral Development

Reports to: Executive Director

Under supervision of the Executive Director, The Director of Marketing and Referral Development drives business development, expanding access to services for individuals with autism. They lead strategic initiatives, forge partnerships, and oversee marketing efforts to increase client acquisition and referral development sources. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are essential to succeed in this position.

Duties:

  • Understands, learns, and represents the full suite of products and services that are offered.
  • Maintains awareness of competitive activities, accurate pipeline forecasting, positioning, and pricing including specific reasons for winning and not winning work.
  • Coordinates the development of our activities with existing and new customers to acquire opportunities tracking, presentation of our offers, and qualification of needs.
  • Researches and analyzes regional ABA therapy markets around each of our centers trends, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities and develop targeted referral development strategies.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key referral sources, including schools, pediatricians, hospitals, and community organizations, to drive client acquisition and enhance brand awareness.
  • Implements outreach initiatives, including in-person and virtual meetings, presentations, and attendance at industry events, to connect with prospective referral sources and clients.
  • Builds and nurtures relationships with stakeholders, ensuring they have a clear understanding of our services, the benefits of ABA therapy, and the value we offer to clients and families.
  • Work closely with intake team members to ensure smooth onboarding for new clients and to communicate any market feedback that could enhance service offerings.
  • Collaborates with the local referral development teams to develop and execute campaigns, including digital, print, and event-based initiatives, to increase visibility and attract new clients.
  • Monitors and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to client acquisition, waitlist, census growth, intake timelines and revenue growth, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve targets.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry regulations, state and local policies, and changes in ABA therapy best practices and identify impacts on business growth.
  • Develops and implements referral development plans on new opportunities.
  • Works with the Finance Director to project ROI when contracting with new payers.
  • Establishes, maintains and prioritizes and accurate and current referral source funnels for each Center.
  • Identifies the strategy that aligns with our quarterly goals, revenue targets, and exceeds our objectives.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles within healthcare or mental health services, preferably in ABA therapy or other therapeutic services.

2. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in related areas are a plus

3. Proven track record of success in business development and client acquisition.

4. Understanding of ABA therapy or mental health services is highly preferred.

5. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
