The Senior Events Marketing Strategist will lead the strategic planning, development and execution of trade shows, exhibitions, and corporate events across all EPE business units. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing & Communications, this role will ensure alignment with organizational goals, brand standards, and marketing and sales objectives. This role encompasses project management, coordination, and operational execution to ensure the successful delivery of trade show strategies, enhance customer experiences, and uphold the company's brand image. The Senior Events Marketing Strategist will work closely with cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships, and provide comprehensive oversight of event planning processes. By balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on event management, the strategist will drive impactful event marketing campaigns that enhance EPE’s industry presence, stakeholder engagement and optimize ROI for EPE’s annual events program.
How You Can Make An Impact
- Collaborate with EPE marketing, communications, and business unit leadership to develop annual event marketing programs and event-specific plans aligned with organizational goals and brand standards.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify high-impact event opportunities, industry trends, and innovative strategies for brand exposure and lead generation.
- Build and maintain a coordinated annual events calendar to ensure consistent execution across business units without overlap.
- Define and track event performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), providing actionable post-event analyses to guide future initiatives.
- Plan, manage, and execute trade shows, conferences, and corporate events, including logistics such as venue selection, vendor negotiation, and on-site execution.
- Oversee event promotion campaigns leveraging digital, print, and social media platforms to maximize attendance and engagement.
- Ensure all event-related materials and deliverables adhere to EPE’s brand standards, providing consistent and professional representation.
- Partner with internal teams to create cohesive marketing materials, booth designs, and presentations, while collaborating with external vendors for creative assets and timely service delivery.
- Utilize CRM and event management platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to track campaigns, manage prospects, and streamline attendee engagement.
- Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions, thorough documentation, and timely vendor contract negotiations.
- Act as the central contact for all event-related activities, coordinating with internal teams, external partners, and industry vendors.
- Demonstrate effective time management, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to navigate unforeseen challenges in dynamic environments.
Qualifications
Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.
- Five or more (5+) years of experience in marketing and event management, with a preference for energy or engineering industry experience.
- Preferred three (3) years of energy experience working with utilities and renewable energy.
- Preferred certification in event management (e.g., CMP, CEM).
- Proven track record in planning and executing large-scale trade shows and corporate events.
- Highly motivated self-starter.
- Ability to work well independently and build relationships with other departments and segments to accomplish objectives.
- Flexible with the ability to manage change and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and has high standards on producing quality work.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of marketing principles and best practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), event management platforms, and project management software.
