Job Description
The big picture: Axios is a media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are looking for an experienced Marketing Director to lead go-to-market strategy for Pro Policy and Pro Deals during an exciting period of business transformation!

Zoom in: In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and executing initiatives that enhance brand awareness, strengthen our market position, and drive revenue growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to hone our value proposition and deliver it to the right professional audience. The responsibilities of this role include:
- Strategy Development: Develop and execute marketing strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share. Align strategies with overall business objectives.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and developments in the competitive landscape and apply them to go-to-market strategy.
- Campaign Management: Design, implement, and optimize multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive Qualified Leads, purchase consideration, and client engagement.
- Content Marketing: Develop programming and content that represents the product, including webinars, whitepapers, and sample newsletters.
- Sales Enablement: Collaborate with the sales team to develop and provide tools, resources, and training that support their efforts. Create compelling sales collateral, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Client Engagement: Build relationships with key partners and stakeholders. Leverage client feedback to refine offerings, enhance the overall client experience, and increase retention.

Brand Management:
Oversee brand positioning and messaging to ensure consistency across all marketing channels, and alignment within the broader Axios portfolio. Enhance Pro’s visibility and reputation in the industry.
- Manage sponsorship of and presence at industry conferences and events.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost-efficiency. Track expenditures and measure ROI for marketing activities.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead initiatives across Marketing, Product, News and Sales, fostering communication and a collaborative, high-performance work environment. Set clear objectives and provide guidance to achieve team goals.
Details: Ideal candidates should have an entrepreneurial spirit, be highly collaborative, organized + detail-oriented, and have the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 7+ years of experience in marketing, with a proven track record in a leadership role, ideally within the policy or financial services sector
- Strong understanding of sales strategies, marketing principles, and digital marketing tools
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams cross-functionally, manage multiple projects, and work collaboratively across departments
- Experience with CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and analytics tools

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $88,000 - $130,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
