Job Description

We have a contract to hire opportunity for a Sr Application Development Engineer with 5+ years of experience in React, Node JS, Microservices and AWS. 100% Remote.

Must have requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in the following
  • React
  • Node JS
  • Microservices
  • AWS (not a complete dealbreaker)

Nice to have:

  • Java
  • SQL
  • Healthcare experience
  • Bachelors degree
  • SAFe

DISQUALIFIERS:

  • Not enough React/Node/microservices

Performance Indicators:

Stories allotted should be completed on time (within Sprint), good communication skills to speak up when there are impediments. Good research skills to work independently on problems but should also be willing to communicate with the Lead developer and take directions.

About this role:

  • This role is interesting because there are opportunities to learn new technologies (AWS, SPA, etc) and work in a highly motivated team which shares knowledge and grow their technical and soft skills.
  • This developer team is made up of 2 FTE and 1 Contractor right now who work with QA, Product Owner, Scrum Master and Design folks as one single scrum team. The team is working on an enrollment module for providers to enroll people in behavioral health services.
  • Key technologies used are REACT, NodeJS, Microservices and AWS. There is a need for a Senior Application Development Engineer for this team since a FTE developer had recently left the team and there is enough work to be completed.

Responsibilities:

  • A typical day would start with a Stand-Up meeting where each member of the scrum team will give the status of the story they have worked, any impediments they ran into so it can be discussed and resolved and if need be escalated, there could also be a sprint planning or sprint retro meeting. The developers might have a meeting separately too to resolve issues or discuss a story. The goal of the developers would be to finish their stories within the sprint allotted.
