Job Description

About Story Stream

Story Stream is an AI startup helping writers refine their manuscripts with deep story analysis. We combine cutting-edge AI with expert editorial insights to support authors in crafting compelling stories.

We’re looking for a skilled Web Developer to implement our newly designed Figma UI in Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and ShadCN. The website is fully functional, and this role is focused entirely on front-end updates—ensuring our platform matches the UX designer's vision with pixel-perfect precision.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Convert 6 Figma pages into responsive, pixel-perfect Next.js components.
  • Utilize Tailwind CSS and ShadCN to ensure a clean, consistent UI.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari).
  • Reuse existing ShadCN components where possible, but build custom components as needed.
  • Work closely with the UX designer and copywriters to refine implementation.
  • Deliver a final UI that exactly matches the Figma designs.

Requirements

3+ years of experience with modern front-end development

  • Proficiency in Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and ShadCN
  • Experience working with component-driven design and UI frameworks
  • Strong attention to detail—able to match Figma designs pixel-for-pixel
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Must deliver a polished desktop-first UI (mobile optimization is not required at this stage)

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Supabase or similar backend services
  • Experience optimizing performance in Next.js
  • Passion for storytelling, writing, or the publishing industry

Compensation & Structure

Fixed Project Rate: $4,500 (based on experience and speed)
Expected Timeline: 2 weeks
Payment Milestones:

  • 30% upfront
  • 40% upon first draft delivery
  • 30% on final approval (must match Figma)

This is a contract position with a clear scope and deliverables—ideal for a developer who enjoys fast-moving, high-precision projects.
