Your Impact

The Cloud Engineer role is focused on supporting existing systems, maintaining, improving, and automating our infrastructure, as well as migrating workloads from local hosting providers to Cloud providers.

You will be part of the efficy Hosting Operations team, supporting our development teams with defining and implementing solutions for cloud infrastructure, including monitoring and metrics, improvements in infrastructure, security governance mechanisms and guardrails, productivity and efficiency tools, CI/CD pipelines, cost reduction mechanisms, leveraging advanced and innovative applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing hosting environments (AWS, GCP, Azure and other local providers) and optimizing resource usage for scalability and cost-efficiency.
  • • Consolidating and migrating workloads to 1-2 Cloud providers.
    • Setting up tools and processes for continuous monitoring of infrastructure and supporting developers with application/service monitoring and alerting.
    • Ensuring secure configurations of CI/CD pipeline, cloud services, containers, and infrastructure.
    • Providing technical support, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring timely resolution of incidents.
    • Contribute to vulnerability assessments and managing remediation efforts.
    • Contribute to ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal security policies, like ISO 27001 and NIST.
    • Evaluating and deploying security tools to enhance security posture.

About YOU 

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, including cloud platforms (AWS and GCP), systems administration, or DevOps practices.
    • Professional experience in managing and maintaining cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and Windows and Linux environments.
    • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment CI/CD (Github Actions, AWS CodePipeline), automation, and infrastructure management.
  • Scripting skills (e.g. Python, PowerShell).
  • Experience in automation and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and have the ability to work together with different R&D functions and stakeholders.
  • Willing to participate in a low volume on call rotation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).

Bonus points for

  • Experience of Identity Management.
    •   Experience of networks and firewalls
    •   Proficiency with Git and version control practices.
    •   Proficiency in relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL
    •   Cloud Certifications (for example AWS Solutions Architect/Devops)
