About you

About us

We're a team of over 20 volunteers working across multiple disciplines from linguistics to design, from business development and marketing to product development. We are open and respectful and work remotely and mostly asynchronously. Accountability is key for us and so is teamwork.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced web developer in PHP. We have already two experienced PHP developers to closely collaborate with on several different applications.

Qualifications

1. Strong experience in independently creating high-quality websites with WordPress.
2. Strong experience in PHP (framework Laravel) including knowledge in HTML,CSS & Javascript
3. Knowledge of popular page builders & Extensions such as Gutenberg Block, Elementor, Beaver Builder or Divi, WooCommerce
4. Able to utilize SEO to increase website traffic.
5. Experience of industry standards for development
6. Understanding of databases (SQL-based) and tools

Responsibilities

1. Attend team meetings regularly to discuss website design and functionality
2. Design and build website front-end and manage content
3. Help maintain website architecture
4. Design and manage the back-end of websites including database and server integration
5. Create WordPress themes and plugins.
6. Conduct website performance tests and monitor live website performance

Availability

Several hours per week
