Job Description
Develocity is a first-of-its-kind product built for large software teams. It provides comprehensive observability, build and test acceleration technologies, and rapid troubleshooting features for Apache Maven, Android, Bazel, sbt, npm, Python, and Gradle Build Tool. Develocity comprises several facets, including large-volume data ingestion and processing, complex data analysis and visualization, and distributed caching and execution systems.

Who You Are
We’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with a demonstrated ability to efficiently deliver and maintain robust and useful software-based solutions as part of a collaborative team. Our ideal candidate has a successful record of delivering testable, evolvable, and scalable back-end architectures to production. While not necessarily build experts, they do exhibit a deep understanding and interest in the automation domain and in developer productivity. They thrive on challenging development and integration problems, understand the nuances of performance and memory optimization, possess and can capably articulate strong opinions, and feel comfortable collaborating with a distributed team.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, deliver, and maintain Develocity features
- Solve technical problems that have large scope, complexity, and business impact
- Effectively manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Assist clients both during trials and in production
- Contribute to process changes that improve the team’s velocity and efficiency
- Participate in Develocity releases, in collaboration with the entire engineering team
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- In-depth experience with Java and the JVM
- Experience leading complex features end-to-end and cross-team
- Proficient communicator in English, both verbal and written
- Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing and building fault-tolerant, distributed systems
- Experience building and scaling highly-available systems
- Experience working with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience automating the software build and delivery process
- Experience working on developer tools
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills
- Interest and ability to learn new software development skills and techniques
